The Department of Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Agricultural Sciences (DOCPAS) was established in 2012 by merging the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Pharmaceutical Science.
Today, DOCPAS counts about 40 Professors, 30 Researchers and 10 employees as technical staff.
The scientific areas covered by DOCPAS include: Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Technology, Industrial Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Agricultural Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry and Ecology, Biochemistry.
DOCPAS is located near the town center between Via Luigi Borsari 46 and Giuseppe Sgarbi Square. Two buildings (Polo Chimico Biomedico Mammuth, “C” building, and Chiostro di Santa Maria delle Grazie) host both research and student laboratories together with teaching rooms, study rooms and one Scientific Library.
DOCPAS can be easily reached by public transport from the train station in less than 20 minutes.
Other Departments, such as Medicine, Life Sciences and Biotechnology, and strategic research and educational center, such as Microscopy, Cosmetology, Translational Neurophysiology, Laboratory for Preclinical Research, Unife Master School for higher education, are located in the same area.
